Bihar Government Cracks Down on Double-Meaning Songs: Samrat Choudhary Orders Strict Action

Patna: Music lovers, beware! Playing double-meaning or obscene songs in public places, at wedding functions, or even in autorickshaws could now land you in serious trouble. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has issued strict directives to all district officials to take stringent action against such offenses.

Deputy CM Calls Double-Meaning Songs a Serious Social Problem
Deputy CM Choudhary emphasized that playing such songs in public spaces, events, or vehicles will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He described double-meaning and obscene songs as a growing social issue, affecting the dignity and safety of women and making them uncomfortable in public.

“These songs also have a negative impact on children’s mindset and cannot be ignored,” Choudhary said. “The government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of women and children, and law enforcement has been instructed to act decisively against such content.”

Special Campaigns During Holi
The Deputy CM further stated that special campaigns would be conducted across all districts during Holi. Officials will identify instances of such songs being played in public venues, vehicles, and events. Violators will face legal action under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, including Sections 296 and 79.

Authorities may also seize sound systems if necessary, and organizers or vehicle operators responsible for playing such songs will be held accountable.
