Bihar Elections 2025: Women Voters Shape Key Outcomes Across Seemanchal; NDA and AIMIM Share Top Seats

The results of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 have revealed a striking pattern linking high female voter turnout with decisive electoral outcomes. According to the latest data released by the Election Commission of India (EC), the five constituencies with the highest women voter turnout were all located in the Seemanchal region. In contrast, Patna district recorded the lowest female participation.

Seemanchal Leads with Highest Female Turnout

Women outperformed men in voting across the state. The top five seats with more than 88% female voter turnout included:

  • Kochadhaman (AIMIM)
  • Baisi (AIMIM)
  • Amour (AIMIM)
  • Pranpur (BJP) – 88.99% turnout
  • Thakurganj (JDU) – 90.27%, the highest in Bihar

Out of these five high-turnout seats, AIMIM won three, while NDA secured two.

Low Female Turnout Areas Favour BJP

Seats where female voter turnout was the lowest (between 39%–55%) were dominated by the BJP. These include:

  • Kumhrar (Patna)
  • Bankipore (Patna)
  • Digha (Patna)
  • Biharsharif
  • Nawada

All five seats with the lowest female participation went to BJP, indicating a strong urban and semi-urban preference despite lower polling numbers.

Voter List Deletions Benefit NDA

The opposition had criticised the large-scale deletion of names during the Special Summary Revision (SIR). However, results showed that constituencies with the highest number of deletions largely favoured the NDA:

  • Gopalganj – 56,793 deletions (BJP won)
  • Purnia – 50,767 (BJP)
  • Motihari – 49,747 (BJP)
  • Kuchaikote – 43,226 (JDU)
  • Kishanganj – 42,940 (Congress)

Out of these five seats, four went to NDA.

Even Where Deletions Were Minimal, NDA Dominated

Among seats with the lowest deletions:

  • Darbhanga (2,859 deletions) – BJP
  • Bettiah (6,076) – BJP
  • Dehri – LJP (Ram Vilas)
  • Mahua – LJP (Ram Vilas)
  • Champaran’s Champatia – Congress

NDA again secured four out of five.

Seats with Maximum Additions Also Favour NDA

In constituencies where the highest number of new names were added to the electoral roll:

  • Nautan (West Champaran) – 5,434 additions (BJP)
  • Thakurganj – 4,728 additions (JDU)
  • Araria – 4,444 additions (Congress)

Similarly, the five seats with the lowest additions (179–470) — Chhatapur, Nirmali, Pipra, Bihariganj, and Simri Bakhtiyarpur — were all won by NDA.

Conclusion

The Bihar Election 2025 reflects a distinct voting pattern influenced by women’s participation, voter list changes, and regional dynamics. While AIMIM made strong gains in high-turnout Seemanchal, the NDA maintained dominance across constituencies with both high and low rates of voter list deletions and additions, as well as in regions with lower female turnout.
