Bihar Election 2025: Nine Seats Decided by Less Than a Thousand Votes


The Bihar Assembly Election 2025 delivered a historic mandate for the NDA, while the Mahagathbandhan failed to cross the 40-seat mark. While many constituencies saw decisive victories, a few witnessed nail-biting finishes, with winners edging out their rivals by just a few dozen or hundred votes. Here’s a look at nine such constituencies where the margin of victory was extremely narrow.

Sandeh: JDU Clinches a Historic Win by Just 27 Votes
In the Sandeh Assembly constituency of the Ara Lok Sabha seat, JDU candidate Radha Charan Sah narrowly defeated RJD’s Deepu Singh by only 27 votes. Radha Charan Sah secured 80,598 votes, while Deepu Singh received 80,571 votes. Jan Suraj’s Rajeev Ranj was a distant third with 6,040 votes.

Aghiawan: BJP Wins by 95 Votes
A tight contest between BJP and CPI(ML) saw Mahesh Paswan of BJP winning by a margin of just 95 votes. Shiv Prakash Ranjan of CPI(ML) came in second.

Forbesganj: Congress Triumphs by 221 Votes
In Forbesganj, Congress candidate Manoj Biswas narrowly defeated BJP’s Vidya Sagar Keshri by 221 votes. Biswas received 1,20,114 votes, while Keshri secured 1,19,893 votes.

Chanpatia: Congress Wins by 602 Votes
Abhishek Ranjan of Congress defeated BJP’s Umakant Singh in Chanpatia, West Champaran, by a margin of 602 votes. Ranjan got 87,538 votes, Singh 86,936 votes, and Jan Suraj’s Tripurari Kumar Tiwari (Manish Kashyap) came third with 37,172 votes.

Bodh Gaya: RJD Edges Out LJP by 881 Votes
RJD’s Kumar Sarvajeet narrowly defeated LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Shyamdev Paswan by 881 votes in Bodh Gaya. Sarvajeet polled 1,00,236 votes while Paswan secured 99,355 votes.

Bakhtiyarpur: LJP Wins by 981 Votes
Arun Kumar of LJP (Ram Vilas) defeated RJD’s Aniruddh Kumar by 981 votes in Bakhtiyarpur. Arun Kumar received 88,520 votes against Aniruddh Kumar’s 87,539 votes. Jan Suraj’s Balmiki Singh was third with 6,581 votes.

Balrampur: LJP Triumphs by 389 Votes
In Balrampur, LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Sangeeta Devi narrowly beat AIMIM’s Mohammad Adil Hasan by 389 votes. Devi received 80,459 votes, Hasan 80,070 votes, and CPI(ML)’s Mahboob Alam came third with 79,141 votes.

Dhaka: RJD Wins by 178 Votes
RJD’s Faisal Rehman defeated BJP’s Pawan Kumar Jaiswal by 178 votes in Dhaka. Rehman secured 1,12,727 votes, Jaiswal 1,12,549 votes, while Jan Suraj’s Dr. LB Prasad got 8,347 votes.

Jehanabad: RJD Triumphs by 793 Votes
In Jehanabad, RJD’s Rahul Kumar defeated JDU’s Chandeshwar Prasad by 793 votes. Kumar received 86,402 votes, Prasad 85,609 votes, and Jan Suraj’s Abhiram Singh secured 5,760 votes.

These narrow-margin victories underline the intense electoral competition in Bihar, where even a handful of votes determined the outcome in several constituencies.
