Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha Conducts Surprise Inspection of Toll-Free Helpline, Exposes Administrative Lapses

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha carried out a surprise inspection at the Common Service Center (CSC) located at Saguna Mor to assess the functioning of the toll-free number (18003456215) of the Revenue Department. The inspection was prompted by repeated complaints from the public about the helpline not being responsive. During the visit, the Deputy CM directly confronted officials and even spoke to registered callers to uncover the ground reality.

Direct Interaction with Callers

Deputy CM Sinha personally contacted several complainants whose details were listed in official records. Callers reported that they often struggled to get through and that their issues were not addressed in a timely manner. The feedback revealed a stark contrast between the official records and the actual service delivery.

Discrepancy Between Records and Reality

Officials had claimed in their files that 1,008 calls were attended on Tuesday alone. However, Vijay Sinha challenged these figures, pointing out that calls made on the previous days and the current day had gone unanswered. He emphasized that mere manipulation of numbers on paper cannot mislead the public about the inefficiency of the system.

Warning to Negligent Officials

Vijay Sinha issued a strict warning to the CSC management and department officials, highlighting that government funds are spent to serve the public, but system inefficiency undermines this purpose. He directed that the toll-free helpline be made fully operational immediately. Additionally, he announced that regular monitoring of complaint resolution would be enforced, and any future negligence would attract strict disciplinary action against the responsible officers.

This surprise inspection reflects the Deputy CM’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and prompt redressal of public grievances in Bihar.
