Buxar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to visit Nawanagar in Buxar district on Monday to inspect the ongoing development of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The CM will review progress, take stock of on-ground preparations, and assess the status of active infrastructure projects within the zone.

According to administrative sources, the Chief Minister’s visit proposal has been prepared, and officials have accelerated preparations. Earlier, District Magistrate Vidyanand Singh conducted a detailed inspection of the SEZ site and reviewed the ongoing works.

Under the plan, BIADA’s 125-acre land in Nawanagar is being developed into a Special Economic Zone at an estimated cost of ₹109 crore, aimed at boosting industrial investment and employment in the region.

DM Conducts Inspection Ahead of CM Visit

On Saturday, the DM inspected two major development projects in the district — the Koilwar Embankment Project and the Keshopur Multi-Village Water Supply Scheme. He directed officials to maintain high-quality standards and ensure timely completion of all works.

At the Koilwar Ganga embankment site, the DM reviewed the progress of blacktopping, protective structures, and ongoing earth-filling activities near Keshopur village under Simri block.

Review of Water Supply Scheme

The DM also inspected the Keshopur Multi-Village Water Supply Project, instructing the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Division to conduct weekly reviews of water distribution in all wards. He emphasized uninterrupted water supply, regular feedback meetings with public representatives every 15 days, and immediate resolution of any supply-related issues.

The DM warned that any negligence in ensuring smooth water supply will not be tolerated.

Administrative Preparations Completed

With the Chief Minister’s likely visit to Nawanagar SEZ, district authorities have completed all preparations and tightened on-ground coordination to ensure a smooth inspection process.
