Bihar BJP Chief Sanjay Saraogi Plans New Team: Who Could Make the Cut?

Patna: The political temperature in Bihar is rising this winter as discussions continue around the formation of a new team under Bihar BJP’s newly appointed state president, Sanjay Saraogi. Known for his meticulous approach, Saraogi is said to weigh every aspect of a decision before finalizing it, ensuring that no step is taken in haste.

Why the Buzz?
After taking charge of the Bihar unit, Sanjay Saraogi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a courtesy visit in New Delhi. During the meeting, he presented the Prime Minister with a memento featuring Janaki’s birthplace, Punaura Dham, along with a Madhubani painting shawl. This interaction has further energized the state BJP, raising expectations about organizational restructuring.

Methodical Approach to Team Formation
Insiders say that Saraogi, having never held a key post in the state unit before, will take time to understand the responsibilities and dynamics before making any appointments. His approach ensures a careful balance between experience, loyalty, and grassroots connection.

Who Will Make the Cut?
Sanjay Saraogi has made it clear that veteran workers and grassroots leaders will be prioritized for key positions. Imported or “outsider” candidates are less likely to find a place, while members from his student political background, including Vidyaarthi Parishad, are expected to have higher representation.

Priorities for the Organization
The party is aiming for a social and regional balance in its leadership. While ensuring representation from influential social groups, including OBCs, EBCs, and non-Yadav communities, the party also seeks to retain traditional upper-caste vote bases. The ultimate aim is to craft an organizational structure capable of supporting BJP’s long-term political strategy in Bihar.

The final composition of the team will only be revealed after Kharmaas (post 14 January 2025), but insiders believe it will reflect a blend of experience, regional representation, and social inclusivity, setting the tone for BJP’s organizational and electoral strategy in the state.
