Ambala, Haryana: In the wake of Congress’ defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, Haryana Minister Anil Vij launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that politics is not his strength. Speaking to the media, Vij remarked that Rahul Gandhi excels at fishing and should continue with it instead of pursuing political leadership.
Targeting the Opposition After Bihar Loss
The remarks came as Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the tenth term at Gandhi Maidan, Patna. Commenting on the ongoing tug-of-war within the Mahagathbandhan alliance, Vij said the outcome in Bihar was inevitable. “The public has shown its anger against those who lie. Bihar’s voters have rejected them decisively,” he said.
Congress ‘Failed’ in Bihar, Claims Vij
Responding to opposition criticism over the Special Voter List (SIR) process, Vij claimed that Congress has already failed. He alleged that people are no longer swayed by Congress’ claims. “The party is trying to divert attention from its defeat by creating unnecessary issues like alleged vote fraud. They haven’t filed a single written complaint with the Election Commission,” Vij stated.
Mahagathbandhan Offices Shut, Public Rejects Lies
Vij further mocked the Mahagathbandhan, noting that “all its offices have been shut. Bihar’s public has tied a metaphorical gag over the mouths of dishonest leaders. They shouldn’t spread false narratives but focus on productive work instead.”
The Fishing Incident That Sparked Mockery
The minister’s comments also referred to an incident during the Bihar elections when Rahul Gandhi entered a pond after a rally with alliance leaders, catching fish and swimming. This episode had previously been widely mocked by BJP leaders, and Vij’s recent remarks revived the satire.
