AAP’s “Give Jobs, Give Social Justice” March Draws Massive Crowd on Third Day in UP

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s ongoing march, themed “Give Jobs, Give Social Justice”, continues to receive overwhelming public support in Uttar Pradesh. Led by AAP’s UP in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, the campaign seeks to address youth unemployment and demand justice for Dalits and backward communities.

On Friday, the third day of the march, the procession traveled from Beekapur in Ayodhya through Khajurhat to Kurebhar in Sultanpur, where hundreds of people welcomed the participants enthusiastically. Residents along the route, including youth, lawyers, women, and senior citizens, greeted the marchers with flower showers and chanted the slogan, “Give Jobs, Give Social Justice.” The march is gradually transforming into a mass movement and will cover nearly 200 kilometers over 13 days, extending from Ayodhya to Sultanpur, Amethi, and finally Prayagraj.

Speaking to the media, Sanjay Singh said the march aims to secure the rights of Dalits, backward, marginalized, and oppressed communities while ensuring employment for the youth. He criticized the UP government, highlighting issues like caste-based discrimination, inequality, and corruption that have made life difficult for the poor and young. “True governance can only come when every person gets equal opportunities and every hand finds work,” Singh remarked.

He further stated that youth unemployment in UP remains alarming. Recruitment examinations are plagued with paper leaks and procedural irregularities, and approved vacancies in key departments remain unfilled. For instance, of over 500,000 sanctioned positions in the Education Department, more than 200,000 posts are still vacant. Similarly, the Health Department has 150,000 sanctioned posts, of which around 50,000 remain unfilled, and in Police and Security, over 100,000 of the 400,000 approved posts are vacant. Singh stressed that these gaps justify the need for AAP’s ground-level mobilization.

Sanjay Singh also condemned ongoing caste-based discrimination and violence in UP. He accused the administration of manipulating reservation policies and favoring certain groups at police stations, asserting, “Democracy cannot thrive until justice reaches the last person in society. AAP’s goal is to ensure equality, opportunity, and respect for every poor, every Dalit, and every youth.”

Referring to AAP’s recent landslide victory in the Taran Taran bypoll in Punjab, Singh attributed the win to Arvind Kejriwal’s honest politics and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s pro-people policies. He said the UP march builds on this ethos: “The fight for people’s rights will always be waged alongside the people.”

The march received robust local support, with former AAP UP president Sabhaajeet Singh and Panchayat Cell Vice President Manoj Mishra coordinating local receptions for MP Sanjay Singh at various stops along the route.
