A Promise Before the Uniform: After Eight Failures, Mayanka Chaurasia Becomes DSP in Her Ninth Attempt

Chhatarpur:
The success story of Mayanka Chaurasia from Lavkush Nagar in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district reads like a powerful cinematic script — one written with perseverance, sacrifice, and unbreakable resolve.

After facing failure eight times over a span of nine long years, Mayanka finally achieved her dream by securing the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) through the MPPSC 2023 examination, where she earned an impressive 10th rank.

Her journey has now become a symbol of determination for thousands of civil services aspirants across the country.

A ‘Bheeshma Pratigya’ Before Marriage

Mayanka had taken a firm vow — she would not marry until she earned the uniform she dreamed of. Despite constant social and family pressure, she chose her goal over comfort, postponing personal milestones until professional success was achieved.

True to her resolve, she continued her struggle relentlessly until the stars finally adorned her uniform.

From Engineering to Civil Services

A native of Lavkush Nagar, Mayanka completed her early education locally before pursuing engineering from Bansal College, Bhopal. After completing her B.Tech degree, she began preparing for civil services in 2016 with a single-minded focus.

Her early attempts saw partial success — she cleared preliminary exams multiple times but failed to clear the mains initially.

Reached Interviews, Faced Setbacks

In 2019 and 2020, Mayanka reached the interview stage, coming close to selection but missing the final list both times. In 2021, she once again qualified for the mains examination, but severe health issues forced her to withdraw midway — a setback that could have ended the journey for many.

But not for Mayanka.

Success Without Coaching

After recovering, she returned with renewed strength and decided to focus entirely on MPPSC. Notably, she achieved this milestone without joining any coaching institute.

According to her elder brother Shivakar Chaurasia, Mayanka relied completely on self-study while living in Indore, proving that discipline and consistency can triumph even without formal coaching.

Ninth Attempt, Final Victory

Mayanka appeared for the mains examination eight times. With every failure, her resolve grew stronger. And in her ninth attempt, after dedicating nearly a decade of her life to preparation, she finally succeeded.

Her journey stands as a powerful reminder that failure is not the end — persistence is.

Today, Mayanka Chaurasia’s story is inspiring countless young aspirants, especially women, proving that with patience, courage, and unwavering determination, even the longest struggles can end in triumph.
