“Why Is the Leader of Opposition Not Allowed to Speak?” Rahul Gandhi Sparks Lok Sabha Uproar Over China Issue

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha witnessed a fiery uproar on Tuesday as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised concerns over China and national security, highlighting tensions over parliamentary procedures.

The chaos erupted shortly after the afternoon session began around 2 PM, when Rahul Gandhi referred to the book by former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane while discussing national security issues. He said, “I am raising the issue of national security,” prompting immediate objections from the ruling party. Opposition MPs protested, questioning why the Leader of the Opposition was not being allowed to speak. The parliamentary session was subsequently adjourned until 3 PM.

Speaking to journalists, Rahul Gandhi also criticized the Modi government over the India-US trade deal. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was under heavy pressure from the United States, leading to the signing of an agreement that had been pending for four months. “The government has sold out the sweat and hard work of Indian farmers. Nothing in the deal has changed over these four months,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the matter in the Lok Sabha was not about General Naravane’s statements, but about a larger issue: “For the first time, the opposition is being denied the right to speak in the House.”

“Our Prime Minister Has Been Compromised”
The Congress leader further alleged, “Prime Minister Modi is under severe pressure. A trade deal that had been pending for months was suddenly signed yesterday evening. This is a result of immense pressure, and it risks damaging the Prime Minister’s image. The people need to consider who is applying this pressure and how. In the US, the case is not against Adani alone, but targets the financial framework around Modi. There is more in the Epstein files yet to be released.”

The incident highlights growing tensions in Parliament over national security, trade agreements, and the role of opposition voices in legislative discussions.
