Weather Update, December 15, 2025: Dense Fog in Delhi-NCR & UP, Bitter Cold in Bihar

New Delhi: Northern India is witnessing a sharp dip in temperatures along with dense fog, causing severe inconvenience to residents. From Delhi-NCR to Uttarakhand, the cold wave has set in, while Bihar faces intense winter chill.

Delhi-NCR Conditions

In Delhi, visibility has dropped drastically due to thick fog, with pollution levels reaching hazardous levels. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in some areas has soared to 500. The city can expect dense morning fog with a maximum temperature of 26°C and a minimum of 9°C, making it difficult for residents to step outdoors safely.

Forecast for Uttar Pradesh

UP continues to experience cold and foggy conditions. Cities like Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, and Sant Ravidas Nagar are likely to witness dense fog, while Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Kanpur Dehat, and Kanpur Nagar also remain under fog alerts. The day is expected to be mostly clear.

Uttarakhand Outlook

Uttarakhand is set for chilly nights and cooler days over the next 4–5 days, with minimum temperatures expected to drop by up to 3°C. While daytime sunshine may provide some relief, nights will be particularly cold. No rainfall is expected this week.

Bihar Weather

Bihar faces dangerous cold conditions today. Patna, Gaya, East and West Champaran, Bhagalpur, and Purnia are under dense fog warnings. Winds of 15–20 km/h may blow in rural areas during mornings, urging residents to take precautions.

Central India: Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh will have clear skies today, with Bhopal recording a maximum of 24°C and a minimum of 9°C. Morning fog is expected in most districts, and caution is advised for early commuters.
