Weather Today, 7 February 2026: Warm Sun with Chilly Winds in Delhi-NCR; Snowfall Alert in Uttarakhand and Kashmir

New Delhi: The weather across India is showing signs of change again today. Delhi-NCR will experience warm sunshine, but cold winds will still be felt, giving a crisp wintery touch. Meanwhile, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and the higher reaches of Uttarakhand are under alert for heavy snowfall and rain due to the influence of two Western Disturbances.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that between 9 and 11 February, western Himalayan regions including Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may witness significant rainfall and snow. On 10 February, some areas could experience strong winds of 30–40 km/h along with thunderstorms. Northern India is expected to see a gradual rise in temperatures over the coming days, providing some relief from the cold.

Delhi Weather Today

Delhi will remain sunny, but cold conditions will persist. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24°C and the minimum around 10°C. Light fog is likely across the NCR region. Air quality is predicted to remain around AQI 250, categorized as ‘poor’, with 25 monitoring centers recording similar levels, according to CPCB.

Rajasthan Sees Relief from Severe Cold

Most parts of Rajasthan are experiencing milder weather, with daytime temperatures rising above 25°C, easing the intense cold. Jaipur is expected to see some morning fog, while cold winds may continue in the early morning and evening. A new Western Disturbance will become active from the night of 8 February.

Northern and Eastern India Conditions

Post the passage of the Western Disturbances, northern plains including UP are experiencing shifts in wind patterns. Cold winds descending from the mountains have lowered minimum temperatures and created dense fog. Uttarakhand may experience thick fog on 7–8 February, with minimum temperatures ranging between 5–10°C. Bihar is seeing bright sunshine during the day, reducing the cold’s effect, though morning fog persists in some areas.

Snowfall Alerts

  • Himachal Pradesh: Rain and snowfall likely from 9–11 February, with dense morning and night fog until 8 February; minimum temperatures between 0–5°C.
  • Uttarakhand: Snowfall expected from 9–11 February; dense fog alerts remain until 7 February.
  • Jammu & Kashmir: Rain and snowfall reported today in many areas, with further heavy precipitation expected from 9–11 February. Strong winds and thunderstorms possible on 10 February.
