Weather Today, 2 February 2026: Rain in 9 States, Cold Wave Alert in 21 Districts – From Delhi to Kashmir, What to Expect

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for rain across nine states, along with snowfall warnings for hilly regions including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A significant cold wave is expected to continue in several districts, affecting life and daily activities.

Heavy Rainfall Alert in North India
For 2–3 February, IMD has issued heavy rainfall warnings for seven states in North India, with two additional states also expected to receive rainfall. The states under alert include Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Eastern Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Winds in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh are expected to reach speeds of up to 50 km/h, accompanied by thunderstorms. Strong winds are also predicted in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, Haryana-Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi-NCR Weather
Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) will experience clear skies today, but strong winds in the morning may lead to a drop in temperature. Dense fog is expected, affecting visibility in the morning. The maximum temperature in Delhi is forecast at 22°C and the minimum at 9°C.

Weather in Uttar Pradesh
UP has been placed under a yellow alert for moderate to heavy rainfall in districts including Prayagraj, Lucknow, Raebareli, Sonbhadra, Lalitpur, Kanpur, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Chandauli, and Barabanki. Winds are expected at 40 km/h, and cold conditions are likely to persist until 14 February.

Weather in Bihar
Bihar will experience mostly clear skies today, with no rain alerts in any district. Light winds at around 10 km/h may occur in East Champaran, West Champaran, Kishanganj, Madhubani, Araria, Sitamarhi, and Supaul. In Patna, the maximum temperature will reach 24°C and the minimum will be 13°C.

Residents are advised to stay updated on local weather conditions, especially in areas under heavy rain and cold wave alerts.
