Weather Forecast for 6th February: Heavy Rain in 3 States, Winds at 30 km/h; IMD Issues Alert

The weather is set to take a turn across several states as western disturbances gain strength, bringing heavy rain and snowfall in the northern regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for multiple states, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

According to the IMD, the western Himalayan region can expect heavy rainfall and snowfall during 5–6 February and 9–11 February. Meanwhile, northwestern India is likely to experience strong winds at speeds of 20–30 km/h over the next 2–3 days.

On 6 February, dense fog is expected over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. In Himachal Pradesh, dense fog is likely during early morning and nighttime hours on 7 February, significantly reducing visibility in many areas.

State-wise Weather Updates for 6 February:

Bihar: Dense fog is forecast, particularly during morning and night hours, which may affect road and rail traffic. Temperatures are expected to gradually fall in the coming days.

Himachal Pradesh: Some areas may receive rain and snowfall due to western disturbances. Dense fog is expected on 7 February morning, with strong winds intensifying the cold.

Uttarakhand: Frost alerts were issued on 5 February. Weather will remain mostly normal for the next four days, but from 9 February, rainfall and snowfall are likely due to another western disturbance.

Rajasthan: Severe cold continues across many districts. Sikar is recording temperatures around 4.5°C. Light morning fog is expected in eastern Rajasthan, with temperatures possibly rising 2–4°C. Some areas may experience cold winds.

Jammu & Kashmir: Two active western disturbances may bring heavy rain and snowfall on 6 February. From 9–11 February, another disturbance is expected to cause heavy precipitation and snowfall, potentially affecting road and mountainous travel.
