VHP Stages Vigorous Protest at Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi Over Violence Against Hindus

New Delhi:
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) held a strong protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi on Tuesday, condemning the brutal murder of Hindu youth Deepu Chandra Das in Bangladesh and escalating violence against Hindus in the country. The demonstration escalated tensions outside the High Commission, as protesters demanded justice for the victim and raised concerns over the safety of Indian nationals, particularly medical students, trapped in Bangladesh.

Rising Tensions Between India and Bangladesh

The protest comes amid growing concerns over the deteriorating situation of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. According to demonstrators, more than 50 non-Muslims have been killed since January this year, and several have faced false charges under blasphemy laws. In response to security concerns, Bangladesh summoned India’s High Commissioner Pranay Verma, citing rising tensions over the safety of Bangladeshi missions in India.

Demonstration Turns Intense

A large crowd of VHP activists gathered near Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro Station before marching to the High Commission. Videos from the scene show protesters carrying placards and shouting slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Yunus Government Wake Up,” and “Stop Hindu Killings.” At one point, demonstrators clashed with police and pushed through security barricades, demanding accountability from the Bangladesh government and enhanced protection for minorities.

Diplomatic Fallout

The protest prompted the Bangladesh High Commission to temporarily suspend visa and consular services in India. Security forces were deployed in and around the mission, and authorities conducted thorough checks to manage the large gathering.

One protester emotionally stated, “Hindus are in danger. This is the land of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. We do not harm anyone here, but the dignity of our sisters and daughters is under threat.”

A Call for Justice

Through this demonstration, the VHP aims to draw attention to the worsening conditions for minorities in Bangladesh and pressure both governments to ensure safety, justice, and protection for vulnerable communities. The incident has also heightened India-Bangladesh diplomatic sensitivities, with New Delhi closely monitoring the situation.
