New Delhi, January 7, 2026: In the immediate aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan reportedly moved swiftly to engage the United States through diplomatic and economic channels. According to reports, Pakistani authorities offered access to their rare earth and critical mineral reserves, with former US President Donald Trump’s loyal physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, playing a key intermediary role.
Deal Initiated Immediately After Pahalgam
Following the Pahalgam massacre on April 22, 2025, in which Pakistani terrorists caused widespread casualties, Pakistani officials arranged a special meeting with Dr. Jackson on May 1 to discuss the rare earth deal. Reports indicate that Dr. Jackson helped Pakistan secure a privileged position within the White House to advance its interests.
Operation Sindur Context
In early May 2025, India launched Operation Sindur against Pakistan and PoK. Prior to the operation, on May 6, Pakistani officials reportedly contacted Dr. Jackson regarding India’s potential actions. When India temporarily paused the operation at Pakistan’s request, diplomatic engagement resumed, including a “dinner diplomacy” call on May 16, during which Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met with Trump.
Rare Earth and Critical Minerals Deal Finalized
Following several rounds of negotiations, a key phone call on May 28, 2025, facilitated by Dr. Jackson, reportedly cleared the path for the deal. Over the following months, relevant documents circulated within the US administration, culminating in a $500 million agreement between the US and Pakistan in September 2025.
About Dr. Ronny Jackson
Dr. Jackson, a retired US Navy physician, previously served as Trump’s personal physician and held roles in the White House medical unit from the George W. Bush era through Trump’s earlier term. Since leaving his official role, he has reportedly been engaged in mining and resource interests, including in Rwanda and Congo. Dr. Jackson gained public attention in the past for controversial remarks about Trump’s “good genes” and longevity.
The Pahalgam attack, therefore, not only intensified regional tensions but also triggered high-level strategic and economic maneuvers involving the US and Pakistan.
