Tomorrow’s Weather, 1 February: Northern India Braces for Rain; IMD Issues Alerts for 8 States

New Delhi: Weather conditions across India are set to change once again on 1 February 2026. A western disturbance is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in the western Himalayas, while the plains of northwest and central India may also see rainfall. Dense fog warnings have been issued for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, according to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Northern States Under Alert
The IMD forecasts thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on 1 and 2 February, with strong winds reaching speeds of 30–50 km/h. Isolated hailstorms are also possible in eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh. Dense fog is expected in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Assam, and West Bengal during the morning and evening. Nighttime temperatures in northwest India may rise by 3–5°C, while daytime temperatures are likely to drop.

Delhi-NCR Forecast
The western disturbance’s impact is expected to reach the plains, including Delhi-NCR, from 1 February. Cold winds from snowfall in the hills will influence the region, causing a drop in minimum temperatures. Thunderstorms with rainfall are likely. Morning hours may see moderate to dense fog, while evening and night could bring gusty surface winds, lightning, and light to very light rainfall.

State-wise Weather Outlook

  • Uttar Pradesh: Light rainfall with thunderstorms is expected for the next three days, along with strong winds up to 50 km/h. Eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience a cold day on 1 February.
