RSS Leader Slams Manickam Tagore’s Al-Qaeda Comparison, Calls It ‘Congress’ Mental Bankruptcy’

New Delhi: A political controversy erupted after Congress leader Manickam Tagore compared the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. In response, RSS leader Indresh Kumar strongly condemned the remark, calling it a reflection of Congress’ “intellectual and mental bankruptcy.”

Speaking on Tagore’s statement, Indresh Kumar said, “The desperation of a party that repeatedly loses elections is clearly visible in such comments. This is the result of the Congress Party’s intellectual and mental decline.”

Congress in Turmoil, Says RSS
Kumar further asserted that many political figures have praised RSS for its discipline, patriotism, and contribution to nation-building. “Such recognition has created confusion within the Congress, making it appear divided and unsettled,” he added.

Highlighting RSS activities, Kumar said, “RSS is celebrating its centenary year through various programs, working towards a stronger India. The organization strives for a society free from untouchability, pollution, religious extremism, and forced conversions, promoting respect for law and adherence to rules.”

The Controversial Statement
Tagore had criticized RSS by claiming that the organization spreads hatred, likening it to Al-Qaeda, which he described as an organized group that fuels terror and animosity. “There is nothing to learn from such an organization,” Tagore said.

This statement came in response to Congress leader Digvijay Singh’s recent post praising RSS, the BJP, and Prime Minister Modi. While some Congress leaders expressed support for Singh, they continued to attack RSS, insisting that the party has nothing to learn from the organization.

Digvijay Singh’s Perspective
In his post, Digvijay Singh acknowledged the discipline and dedication of RSS workers, who contribute to producing state and national leaders. He emphasized that his comments were part of an ongoing ideological debate. Singh added, “I have been part of Congress for the past 50 years and will continue to fight the ideological battle.”
