New Delhi, January 26, 2026: On the occasion of Republic Day, Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sarsanghchalak (General Secretary) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), emphasized the importance of India’s national flag, constitutional values, and the country’s ancient spiritual heritage. Hosabale called upon citizens to uphold these values in daily life, perform their civic duties, and act in accordance with national responsibilities.
Praising the government’s decision to play “Vande Mataram” during the Republic Day parade, he said, “It is our national song. Those who led India’s freedom struggle drew inspiration from ‘Vande Mataram’ and moved forward. Each line and word of this song continues to inspire every Indian generation to serve the nation.”
Hosabale urged citizens to cultivate love and compassion for society and empathy for marginalized groups while dedicating themselves to India’s service. He described Republic Day as an occasion to reaffirm the commitment to protect and promote the timeless spiritual essence of India, alongside its constitutional framework.
Highlighting the significance of national duty, he said, “Safeguarding the Constitution and the national flag is a national responsibility rooted in truth and dharma. We must resolve to embrace India’s eternal spiritual ideals in our lives and fulfill our national duties, ensuring the unity, security, and development of the country.”
Hosabale also praised the Indian Armed Forces, security personnel, police, and various social and religious institutions for their unwavering dedication to protecting the Republic and preserving India’s ancient heritage. He reiterated that RSS volunteers have been practicing this commitment for over a century—serving the nation, protecting the Republic, and being guided by the principles of ‘Rashtra Dharma.’
