Rahul Gandhi Targets Modi Over Former Army Chief Naravane’s Book, Promises to Present Copy in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has once again intensified his attack on the Modi government, citing claims from a book authored by former Army Chief General M. M. Naravane. The statements, made in Parliament on Wednesday, have stirred political debate and raised tensions in the House.

Referring to Naravane’s book, Rahul Gandhi alleged that during the 2020 India-China border conflict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told the then Army Chief, “Do what you think is right.” Rahul Gandhi said that if the Prime Minister attends Parliament, he intends to personally present him with the book so that he can read it and the nation can know the truth. “I don’t think the Prime Minister will have the courage to come today. But if he does, I will hand him the book myself,” he said.

When asked by journalists where he obtained the book and whether it is available to the public, Rahul Gandhi replied cryptically: “You can imagine where the book came from.” The book in question is titled Four Stars of Destiny.

What Rahul Gandhi Claims the Book Reveals
Rahul Gandhi stated that the government has been denying the existence of the book. “The Speaker said the book doesn’t exist… Every young person in the country should know that the book does exist. This is Naravane Ji’s book, and it clearly states the key issue — the Prime Minister said, ‘Do what you think is right.’”

He further explained the context: “When General Naravane contacted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, informing him that Chinese tanks had reached the Kailash Ridge, there was no immediate response. Naravane Ji even sought guidance from Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, but no clear instructions were given. Finally, Rajnath Singh told him to consult the ‘top.’ The standing order from the top was that if Chinese forces entered, no action should be taken without authorization.”

Rahul Gandhi continued, “Naravane Ji and our Army were willing to fire on the tanks, as they had intruded into Indian territory. Instead, Prime Minister Modi reportedly instructed him to ‘do what you think is right,’ effectively leaving the Army Chief to act independently. Naravane Ji writes in his book that he felt truly alone, abandoned by the system.”
