“No Need to Respond to Every Threat”: US Singer Mary Millben Praises PM Modi Amid Trump Remarks

American singer Mary Millben, known for her admiration of India, has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi while reacting to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding India. Millben emphasized that unnecessary tension with a friendly nation like India should be avoided and encouraged Modi to continue serving the country’s best interests.

Millben, who had previously attracted attention for criticizing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, addressed PM Modi directly, stating that it is not necessary to respond to every threat or comment made by Trump.

Support for PM Modi, Advice for Trump

On Tuesday, Millben shared her thoughts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I know that President Donald Trump respects Prime Minister Narendra Modi sincerely, but unfortunately, he has been poorly advised regarding his approach toward India. I am praying for the President on this matter.”

Millben advised that Prime Minister Modi need only focus on the well-being of the Indian people and not react to every statement or threat from Trump. She further suggested that Modi need not pay attention to figures like U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who she described as largely irrelevant to India’s strategic interests.

Global Context and US Politics

Millben highlighted the broader geopolitical context, noting that global leaders including PM Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi are aware that only ten months remain until the U.S. midterm elections in November. She observed that if the Democrats gain control of Congress—a possibility given ongoing Republican retirements—the global geopolitical landscape could undergo a significant shift.

Encouragement to Continue Leadership

Concluding her message, Millben expressed hope that Trump and the White House would avoid creating unnecessary tensions with friendly nations like India following the midterm elections. She urged PM Modi to “keep moving forward and continue working for India’s best interests—the very reason you were elected.”

The remarks come in the wake of Trump’s renewed threats of tariffs and his claims that India reduced its imports of Russian oil due to U.S. pressure. Following Trump’s comments, several Congress leaders in India have publicly questioned the government’s approach.
