New Delhi: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has accused the opposition of orchestrating a premeditated plan to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha. According to Tiwari, opposition MPs deliberately advanced toward the Prime Minister’s chair, using women MPs as part of their strategy.
Speaking to the media, Tiwari said, “On Wednesday, what happened in the House will draw the nation’s condemnation for the Congress. The Prime Minister was scheduled to respond to the President’s address, but at 5 PM, Congress used women MPs to surround him. This reflects their desperation after repeated electoral losses—they intended to target the Prime Minister.”
Tiwari further alleged that the opposition approached in anger with the clear intent to intimidate and disrupt. “They went beyond the Chair, and everyone was shocked. This was a fully pre-planned move, which was only controlled thanks to Minister Kiren Rijiju,” he added.
Commenting on broader issues, Tiwari said the Congress and its allies should introspect on the reasons for their electoral setbacks instead of venting their frustration on the BJP or the Prime Minister. On the India-US trade deal, he remarked, “Even the US is adjusting its policies to align with India. Such behavior in the House is unbecoming.”
What Happened in the House?
The disruption occurred when the opposition demanded a discussion on the India-US trade deal. The Lok Sabha proceedings were suspended multiple times—at 12 PM, 2 PM, and then until 5 PM. When the session resumed at 5 PM, opposition MPs, including women MPs Varsha Gaikwad and Jyotimani, began protesting and blocked the ruling party’s seats, including the Prime Minister’s. After an extended standoff, the MPs withdrew their protest.
