India Unveils BRICS 2026 Presidency Logo, Theme, and Official Website

New Delhi: India has officially launched the logo and website for its BRICS 2026 Presidency, marking a significant step in its leadership role within the five-nation bloc. The launch was unveiled by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who highlighted the key priorities and vision for India’s tenure.

Theme and Vision

The theme for BRICS 2026, according to Dr. Jaishankar, is “Enhancing Capabilities, Promoting Innovation, and Ensuring Sustainable Development for All.” The newly launched logo reflects this philosophy, blending tradition with modernity. Its petals incorporate the colors of all BRICS member countries—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—symbolizing unity, diversity, and shared purpose. The design emphasizes that while BRICS draws strength from the collective contributions of its members, it also respects each nation’s distinct identity.

A Digital Platform for Collaboration

The official BRICS India website will serve as a central platform for information on meetings, initiatives, and outcomes during India’s presidency. It aims to enhance transparency, facilitate engagement, and provide timely updates on BRICS activities globally.

Four Pillars of Focus

Dr. Jaishankar outlined four key priorities for India’s presidency: Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability.

  • Resilience: India plans to build institutional capacities to withstand global shocks, working with BRICS nations to strengthen agriculture, healthcare, disaster risk reduction, energy, and supply chains.
  • Innovation: Emerging technologies will be leveraged to address socio-economic challenges, particularly in developing countries. Collaborative initiatives in start-ups, MSMEs, and technology will be emphasized.
  • Cooperation and Sustainability: India will advance climate action, clean energy, and sustainable development, ensuring efforts are equitable and sensitive to member countries’ needs.

Strengthening Multilateralism

Highlighting the importance of a robust multilateral system, Dr. Jaishankar said BRICS should complement global institutions like the United Nations, WTO, IMF, and World Bank, making them more representative and inclusive. The New Development Bank (NDB), established by BRICS, will continue to play a crucial role in promoting infrastructure and sustainable development, with India committed to strengthening it as a reliable, responsible, and financially sustainable institution.

People-to-People Exchanges

India’s BRICS presidency will also focus on youth, culture, education, sports, tourism, and academic collaboration. These exchanges are aimed at building mutual understanding, deepening cooperation, and fostering a sense of community within BRICS.

Inclusive, Practical, and Results-Oriented Leadership

Dr. Jaishankar emphasized that India views its BRICS presidency as a constructive platform for dialogue and development, grounded in mutual respect, sovereign equality, and consensus. Through the logo and website, India aims to showcase the bloc’s objectives and initiatives to the world, promoting “unity in diversity” and advancing shared goals.

India’s BRICS 2026 presidency is set to not only strengthen coordination among member countries but also provide a renewed direction to the global agenda of the bloc.
