IAF Releases Republic Day Video Showing ‘Operation Sindoor’; Confirms No Attack on Pakistan’s Nuclear Sites

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a visually striking video on Republic Day, featuring various fighter aircraft, including Rafale, Su-30MKI, Jaguar, and Tejas. The video showcases India’s aerial capabilities and reiterates the message that these advanced jets are “guardians of peace.”

The video sparked renewed speculation about last year’s Operation Sindoor, with some viewers questioning whether the IAF had struck Pakistan’s nuclear facilities at Kirana Hills in Sargodha. However, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, then Director General of Air Operations, had clarified at the time that India did not attack the Kirana Hills. The IAF has reiterated its stance in response to queries about the new video. Wing Commander Jaydeep Singh, spokesperson for the IAF, told TOI, “We stand by our official statement. No further details can be shared.”

The video also highlights the IAF’s advanced weapons systems, mounted on its fleet of fighter jets. Notable displays include:

  • Rafale carrying Meteor air-to-air missiles.
  • Su-30MKI equipped with Astra air-to-air missiles and BrahMos cruise missiles.
  • Jaguar deep-penetration strike aircraft armed with ASRAAM short-range air-to-air missiles.
  • Rafale with Hammer precision-strike missiles and Rampage munitions.

The footage combines military precision with artistic flair, showing aircraft in a ‘Sindoor’ formation against the backdrop of Mahishasura Mardini music, accompanied by the message:
“I stand as an unyielding guardian of peace. Should any malevolent force attempt to break this peace, I rise as its stern enforcer — precise, invincible, unwavering.”

The video also includes glimpses of Air Force bases like Noorpur Khan and references to strikes carried out during Operation Sindoor on other Pakistani military installations. While a Swiss report suggested that Indian operations pressured Pakistan into seeking peace, the IAF maintains that no nuclear sites were targeted.

Last year, speculation arose after new satellite imagery from June showed what appeared to be a missile strike on a strategically sensitive Pakistani site. Geo-intelligence analyst Damien Simon shared these images on X, fueling public debate. However, official IAF statements confirmed that Kirana Hills was never attacked.

The Republic Day video aims to highlight India’s cutting-edge aerial arsenal while responding to critics who doubted the operational deployment of BVR missiles on Rafale jets during cross-border engagements. It also underscores the IAF’s preparedness and precision in both counter-terrorism operations like the Balakot strikes and defensive operations such as Operation Sindoor.
