Did BJP Ally with Congress to Defeat Its Own Partner? AAP Launches Sharp Attack

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp critique of both the BJP and Congress over recent local body elections in Maharashtra. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the BJP collaborated with Congress to defeat its own ally, the Shinde faction.

According to AAP, the elections in Maharashtra reveal a striking political reality: parties that publicly present themselves as arch-rivals at the national level are willing to join hands at the local level for power. The case in point is the Ambernath Municipal Council in Thane district, where post-poll maneuvers saw BJP and Congress together oust the BJP’s alliance partner, the Shinde faction, from power.

Kejriwal Questions BJP-Congress Alliance

Kejriwal directly questioned the developments in Ambernath, tweeting: “Did the BJP really join hands with Congress to defeat its own alliance partner, Shinde Sena? What kind of politics is being shown to the public?”

Adding to the criticism, AAP’s national media head Anurag Dhanda said, “Earlier, BJP and Congress used to meet secretly like lovers, but now their alliance is completely public. Is this not misleading the people?”

Post-Poll Alliances Expose Political Opportunism

Kejriwal pointed out that the Ambernath episode underscores how parties that publicly denounce each other over issues like nationalism and communalism at the national level are willing to work together at the local level for power. AAP emphasized that the incident exposes the hidden collaboration between BJP and Congress, revealing the true face of politics: opposition on the surface and power-sharing behind the scenes.

The party further argued that this is not limited to Maharashtra but raises questions about political practices across India. AAP vowed to continue its fight against such politics, advocating truth and integrity in public life.
