
The Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, has won his first-ever Grammy Award. At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, he was honored in the category of Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording for his album titled “Meditation: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”
With this win, Dalai Lama joins an elite list of first-time Grammy recipients, alongside artists from K-pop and renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg. The Grammy Awards, presented annually by the Recording Academy, are among the most prestigious honors in the music industry, recognizing outstanding achievements by artists and technical professionals.
Who is the Dalai Lama?
Dalai Lama is the highest spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. Born on 6 July 1935 in a small village in Tibet, he was recognized at the age of two as the reincarnation of the previous Dalai Lama. Since then, he has dedicated his life to spiritual practice, compassion, and promoting messages of humanity.

Beyond being a religious leader, Dalai Lama is a global symbol of peace, non-violence, compassion, and harmony. He has traveled worldwide delivering lectures on human values, mental peace, and mutual understanding. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to raise awareness about Tibet peacefully and to spread the message of non-violence—a recognition of his lifelong commitment to humanity.
