New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation has urged the Indian government not to accept the Trump administration’s proposed ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza, calling it a part of a neo-colonial agenda.
The party described the proposed board as an attempt to undermine the right of Palestinians to self-determination and establish a new colonial order led by the United States.
According to the CPI(ML) Liberation’s Central Committee, the board, which emerged from the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement, has deviated from its original purpose. It is now being positioned as an alternative to established international institutions like the UN, but with all authority concentrated in the hands of the US. The party cited recent US actions against Venezuela as evidence of the dangers posed by such a structure.
Despite the ceasefire in October 2025, killings, destruction of homes and infrastructure, and deliberate starvation of people in Gaza continue daily with the support of Israel, the US, and Western nations. The CPI(ML) Liberation argued that the formation of the ‘Board of Peace’ is a conspiracy to weaken the Palestinian struggle.
The party pointed out that the Trump administration has invited India to join this board. It called on India to maintain its anti-colonial legacy and solidarity with the Global South and avoid becoming part of this US-centric neo-colonial structure.
Criticizing the central government, the party alleged that India’s current stance during the ongoing Gaza crisis betrays its historical legacy and aligns the country with oppressive forces, which it described as “highly shameful.”
The CPI(ML) Liberation demanded that India revise its policy immediately, strengthen solidarity with the Palestinian people, and support their right to decide their future free from occupation, racial discrimination, and foreign domination. The party emphasized that India’s support for the Palestinian liberation struggle must remain steadfast.
