Tensions between India and Bangladesh have escalated as attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh continue. In a show of defiance, the Bangladeshi government suspended all consular and visa services at its High Commission in Delhi on Monday, citing “compelling reasons.” The move comes amid ongoing protests and diplomatic unrest.

A senior official at the Indian Visa Application Center in Dhaka emphasized that humanitarian requirements remain India’s priority, and visa operations in Dhaka, Khulna, Sylhet, and Rajshahi will continue as long as security allows. Although the Dhaka center was briefly closed due to protests, it resumed operations the following day, ensuring uninterrupted access for medical visa applicants.

The Bangladeshi High Commission in Delhi announced that all consular and visa services will remain suspended indefinitely, without specifying a reopening date. Meanwhile, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma visited the IVAC in Dhaka to review visa operations and interact with applicants.
