“25 Bhairav Battalions, 15 Shaktibaan, 34 Divyastr” – India’s Unstoppable Plan Leaves China and Pakistan Alarmed

In the wake of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army is strengthening its combat capabilities with the induction of new elite units. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi announced the formation of the Bhairav Light Commando Battalion, Shaktibaan Regiment, Divyastr Artillery Regiment, and the Ashwini Platoon, a move aimed at enhancing India’s military power and keeping a close watch on terrorist camps across the Line of Control (LoC).

Expanding the Army’s Strike Force

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, General Dwivedi outlined the key steps to boost the Army’s operational capacity:

  • 25 Bhairav Battalions will be established, with 250 elite soldiers each, trained for swift and surprise operations. The first battalions are already operational, and all 25 are expected to be in place within six months.
  • 15 Shaktibaan battalions will be inducted initially, followed by 11 more battalions under the same regiment.
  • 34 Divyastr artillery batteries will be added to the artillery wing.
  • Additionally, 7 Rudra Brigade battalions will join the Army, expanding from the current 2 active battalions, with 4 more to be commissioned in the second phase.

Bhairav Battalions on Duty

Announced post-Operation Sindoor, the Bhairav Light Commando Battalion represents a rapid-response elite unit capable of executing high-intensity operations. For the first time, Bhairav Battalion soldiers will march in full regalia before the Supreme Commander, signaling their readiness.

Restructuring and Missile Force

General Dwivedi also emphasized the urgent need for a Rocket-Missile Force and confirmed that Army restructuring continues. The government has approved the long-pending proposal to establish Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs), combining infantry, artillery, air defense, tanks, and logistics units into cohesive strike formations.

Vigilance Across Borders

The Army Chief warned that at least six terrorist camps across the LoC and two beyond the international border remain active. “Any nefarious activity from these camps will be met with decisive action,” he stated, noting that these camps house 100–150 terrorists.

China and Pakistan on Alert

India’s success in Operation Sindoor significantly curtailed Pakistan’s attempts to challenge the LoC, while China’s indirect support to Pakistan also faltered. With India’s growing global reach and military strength, both neighboring powers are reportedly unsettled. The induction of deadly new units like Bhairav, Shaktibaan, and Divyastr only adds to the strategic advantage, sending a clear message: India’s military preparedness is at an all-time high.
