A festive wedding celebration in Muzaffarnagar turned into a scene of chaos and shock when a woman claiming to be the groom’s live-in partner arrived with police at the venue, accusing the groom—a Uttar Pradesh Police constable—of betrayal. The dramatic confrontation halted the wedding procession, turning a night of music and joy into turmoil and disbelief.
Bridegroom’s Secrets Unfold Amid Band and DJ Beats
The constable, a resident of Jaitpur village under Bhaurakalan police station, was posted in Badaun. His wedding procession was set to leave for a banquet hall in Shahpur from a village in the Budhana area on Saturday night.
Just as the ghurchaddi (ceremonial horseback departure) preparations were underway and the DJ beats echoed through the village, a young woman from Badaun arrived with Bhaurakalan police and declared herself the constable’s lover.
The woman claimed that she had been in a live-in relationship with the constable for two years, during which he repeatedly promised marriage. “He deceived me and is now marrying someone else,” she alleged before showing photos of the two together as proof.
Late-Night Panchayat Ends Wedding Before Mandap
Initially, the constable denied all accusations, but when the woman produced pictures from their private moments, he was left speechless. The incident quickly drew a large crowd, and the festive atmosphere turned tense.
Word reached the bride’s family, and they immediately called off the wedding. Village elders and members of the khap panchayat gathered late at night and decided that the marriage could not proceed. The constable’s family returned all the cash and valuables received from the bride’s side.
Woman to File Complaint Against Constable
The following morning, the woman stayed at the Bhaurakalan police station, later returning to Badaun after the wedding was officially canceled. She announced her intent to file an FIR against the constable for cheating and emotional exploitation.
Meanwhile, the dramatic incident has become the talk of the village, with residents remarking how “the DJ beats that set the wedding mood soon gave way to chaos and heartbreak.”
