V‘Masti 4’ Trailer Out: Vivek, Aftab & Riteish Return With Old Double-Meaning Jokes, Tusshar Kapoor’s Look Steals the Laughter

After nearly a decade, the Masti franchise is back — but this time, the laughter seems a little forced. The trailer of “Masti 4”, directed by Milap Zaveri, has finally dropped, promising chaos, confusion, and cheeky comedy. However, fans are divided — while nostalgia hits hard, the humor feels stuck in the past.

The original Masti (2004), directed by Indra Kumar, was a trendsetter in adult comedy and a box-office hit. But its sequels Grand Masti (2013) and Great Grand Masti (2016)* couldn’t replicate that charm. Now, nine years later, the trio — Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani — reunite for Masti 4, releasing this November.

The three-minute trailer brings back the same mischievous trio, once again caught in awkward, flirtatious adventures, trying to escape their marital troubles. Unfortunately, the recycled double-meaning jokes and familiar setups leave little room for surprise.

Joining the cast this time are Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi. Tusshar plays a gangster whose comical appearance triggers more laughs than his dialogues, while Arshad appears in a cameo as a man offering the trio a “love visa” — a guilt-free pass for extra-marital fun.

The trailer is filled with energetic dance numbers, over-the-top humor, and chaotic moments — yet it feels more like a remix of the previous installments than a fresh story. The closing scene, oddly enough, resembles the infamous “elephant scene” from The Brothers Grimsby, which has already drawn social media comparisons.

The screenplay is penned by Farukh Dhondy and Milap Zaveri, featuring a large ensemble cast including Ruhi Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Shad Randhawa, Nishant Malkani, Nargis Fakhri, and Bigg Boss 19 fame Natalia Janoszek.

Despite the trailer’s promise of “Masti, Dhamal, and Golmaal,” the humor seems outdated. Whether the full film manages to revive the spark of the 2004 original remains to be seen when Masti 4 hits theatres on November 21, 2025.
