Indore, October 31, 2025

Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Shivam Verma, a comprehensive review meeting on maintaining cleanliness and implementing rural development initiatives was held today at the District Panchayat Auditorium, Indore. The meeting was chaired by Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat, Mr. Siddharth Jain, who announced the launch of Swachhata Abhiyan 2.0 in Indore’s rural areas on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.

In the initial phase of the campaign, 32 village panchayats situated along major highways and near Indore city have been selected. The meeting was attended by sarpanches, secretaries, sub-engineers, and other district and block-level officials and staff.

Mr. Jain emphasized that the one-month-long campaign aims to establish an ideal waste management system in these selected villages. Directions were given for the regular operation of waste collection vehicles, the immediate setup of segregation sheds, and ensuring continuous community engagement. Each panchayat was instructed to assess available resources and submit requirements for additional support where necessary.

To ensure effective monitoring, district-level supervision teams have also been formed. These teams will conduct daily inspections of waste management systems in the allocated panchayats. CEOs of Janpad Panchayats were instructed to ensure zero negligence during the campaign. Furthermore, incentives and awards will be presented to the best-performing gram panchayats for their outstanding contributions.

The meeting also included a detailed review of ongoing rural development schemes and government programs. CEO Mr. Siddharth Jain directed officials from the Renewable Energy Department to organize joint surveys and awareness camps to promote solar energy adoption in rural households, with the goal of creating energy self-reliant villages.

Discussing the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana, Mr. Jain instructed all departmental officers to prepare a five-year comprehensive development plan for selected villages within the next month. He also directed each Janpad Panchayat to submit an action plan for constructing model cremation grounds (Moksha Dham) in all panchayats by the end of the current financial year.

In addition, officials were urged to complete all pending e-KYC processes within the stipulated timeframe. Progress under the Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam Yojana was also reviewed in detail, with instructions to ensure timely implementation in line with the scheme’s objectives.

The meeting was attended by Additional CEO Mr. Sanjay Tiwari, Executive Engineer (Rural Mechanical Services) Mr. Sanjay Solanki, all Janpad Panchayat CEOs, assistant engineers, project officers, and other district and block-level officials.

The discussion concluded with a collective resolution to make Swachhata Abhiyan 2.0 not just a cleanliness drive but a symbol of rural transformation, sustainability, and community participation across Indore district.
