Swachhata Abhiyan 2.0 to Be Launched in Indore’s Rural Areas

Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Shivam Verma, a comprehensive review meeting on rural cleanliness and development programs was held today at the District Panchayat Auditorium, Indore. The meeting, chaired by Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Mr. Siddharth Jain, marked a major announcement — the launch of Swachhata Abhiyan 2.0 in the rural areas of Indore district on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.

In the first phase of this campaign, 32 village panchayats located along major highways and near the city have been identified. The meeting witnessed the participation of sarpanches, secretaries, sub-engineers, and officers from various district and block-level departments.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jain emphasized that the month-long campaign aims to establish a model waste management system in the selected panchayats. Detailed directions were issued for ensuring the regular operation of waste collection vehicles, the immediate setup of waste segregation units, and sustained public participation. All panchayats were instructed to evaluate their available infrastructure and submit requirements for additional resources where needed.

To ensure effective monitoring, district-level supervisory teams have been constituted to conduct daily inspections of waste management systems in their respective areas. The CEOs of Janpad Panchayats were directed to maintain strict oversight and ensure that no negligence occurs during the campaign. It was also announced that incentives and awards will be given to panchayats demonstrating exemplary performance.

The meeting further reviewed the progress of ongoing rural development and government welfare schemes. Mr. Jain instructed the officials of the Renewable Energy Department to conduct joint surveys and awareness drives to promote solar energy adoption in rural households — with the larger goal of building energy self-reliant villages.

Discussing the Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana, the CEO directed all departmental heads to prepare a five-year integrated development plan for the selected villages within a month. He also instructed every Janpad Panchayat to prepare an action plan for establishing model cremation grounds (Moksha Dham) in all panchayats before the close of the current financial year.

Additionally, Mr. Jain emphasized the timely completion of pending e-KYC work across all rural development schemes. The implementation progress of the ‘Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam Yojana’ was also reviewed, with directives issued to ensure completion of all activities as per the scheme’s provisions.

The meeting was attended by Additional CEO Mr. Sanjay Tiwari, Executive Engineer (Rural Mechanical Services) Mr. Sanjay Solanki, Janpad Panchayat CEOs, assistant engineers, project officers, and other key district officials.

The session concluded with a collective resolution to make Swachhata Abhiyan 2.0 not merely a cleanliness drive, but a movement for rural transformation, sustainability, and community participation, reflecting the spirit of a cleaner, greener, and self-reliant Indore district.
