Special Drive to Inspect Buses Continues in Indore

**

Indore, November 3, 2025:
Under the direction of Collector Shivam Verma, a special inspection campaign has been launched in Indore to check passenger, school, and other transport buses for compliance with safety norms. The inspection focused on ensuring the presence and functionality of emergency exits, fire safety systems, and proper evacuation arrangements in case of emergencies.

During the operation, irregularities were found in 11 vehicles. Out of these, one bus operating without a valid permit was seized, and penalties were imposed on 10 other vehicles, resulting in the collection of fines exceeding ₹80,000.

The RTO Indore team conducted intensive checks at Radisson Square and Lavkush Square, primarily targeting intercity and interstate buses. Officials emphasized that safety compliance is mandatory for all transport operators.

Bus drivers and conductors were also cautioned against carrying flammable materials and instructed to inform passengers about emergency safety measures, similar to safety briefings given on airplanes. Passengers should be made aware of emergency exits and the use of hammers placed to break glass in case of emergencies, ensuring readiness to deal with unforeseen situations effectively.

The drive aims to strengthen public transport safety standards and ensure passenger welfare across Indore district.
