Run for Unity Held on National Unity Day to Honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

The birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Indore as National Unity Day. To mark the occasion, the Indore Police Commissionerate organized a special marathon under the theme “Run for Unity”, symbolizing national integration, harmony, and solidarity.

The run commenced early Friday morning from Nehru Stadium and passed through major city points including GPO Square, Chhawani Square, the Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (Chhoti Gwaltoli), Madhumilan Square, Shivaji Vatika Square, SBI Bank T, and concluded back at Nehru Stadium.

Participants, inspired by Sardar Patel’s ideals of unity and integrity, took a pledge to uphold the spirit of oneness, brotherhood, and national cohesion. The event witnessed massive participation from citizens, police personnel, students, and public representatives, all running together for a united India.

Dignitaries including Water Resources Minister Mr. Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Mr. Pushyamitra Bhargav, Police Commissioner Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, MLAs Mr. Madhu Verma and Mr. Mahendra Hardia, and Mr. Sumit Mishra graced the event with their presence and encouraged participants.

The atmosphere resonated with patriotic zeal as slogans of unity and integrity echoed through the streets — a fitting tribute to Sardar Patel’s vision of a strong and united India.
