Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena Shares a Fascinating Childhood Story on His Birthday — “My Father Chose a Birth Date That Would Get Me a Job Right After Class 10

!”

Jaipur: Known for his unique and straightforward style in Rajasthan politics, Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena celebrated his birthday on October 3 in a simple manner this year. Despite a continuous stream of greetings from supporters and well-wishers throughout the day, Meena chose not to celebrate elaborately out of respect for those who lost their lives in the tragic Phalodi and Jaipur incidents.

While visiting his ancestral village Manoharpura in Mahua (Dausa district) with his wife Golma Devi, the minister shared an amusing and heartwarming story from his childhood that quickly went viral.

“I Don’t Even Know My Real Birth Date”

In his signature candid tone, Meena revealed, “I actually don’t know my real date of birth.” He went on to narrate, “When my father took me and my elder brother to school for admission, he told the teacher, ‘Please write down such a date that will help them get a job as soon as they complete their 10th class.’”

The humorous anecdote drew laughter from those present, showcasing once again the minister’s down-to-earth personality and connection with common people.

Celebrations with Simplicity and Social Service

Even though he avoided grand celebrations, Meena’s day was marked by service-oriented gestures. His wife Golma Devi fed him sweets to mark the occasion, while Meena presented her with a bouquet and a traditional sword as a token of respect.

The minister also sought blessings from saints and dedicated himself to public welfare by donating a ₹75 lakh ambulance for the local community and inaugurating development projects worth ₹200 crore in Mahua. Additionally, he announced ₹25 lakh for the construction of a community hall in Dausa district.

Speaking to the media, Meena said, “When people are grieving due to tragic accidents, celebrating with pomp doesn’t feel right. This is a time for compassion, not festivity.”
