Municipal Commissioners Appointed as Additional District Election Officers

Jabalpur, November 3, 2025:
The Election Commission of India, acting on a proposal sent by the Chief Electoral Officer’s Office, has designated the Commissioners of all 16 Municipal Corporations in Madhya Pradesh, including Jabalpur, as Additional District Election Officers.

This appointment has been made in view of their key role in overseeing and managing the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in urban areas. Under this responsibility, the Municipal Commissioners will supervise the distribution of enumeration forms, verification of details submitted by voters, and uploading of verified information to ensure the accuracy of the electoral rolls.

The role of Additional District Election Officer has been assigned only for the duration of the Special Intensive Revision program. During this period, the Municipal Commissioners will be considered on deputation with the Election Commission.
