Income Tax Department Organizes Awareness Program for Postal Department Officers

An awareness program was organized by the Income Tax Department to educate officials of the Postal Department on compliance with TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) provisions and other relevant statutory aspects of the Income Tax Act. The session aimed to enhance understanding of key legal requirements and strengthen procedural compliance among departmental officers.

The event was held at the GPO Office, Indore, under the able guidance and direction of Smt. Preeti Agarwal, Postmaster General, Indore Region.
During the session, Shri Tengale Ganesh Mahadev, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, along with Income Tax Officers Shri Sudhir Sharma and Shri Priya Ranjan, delivered detailed presentations on various provisions of TDS, major sections of the Income Tax Act, and addressed practical complexities faced during implementation.

The program witnessed the physical participation of all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) from Indore city and virtual participation from DDOs across the Indore Region through video conferencing.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Assistant Accounts Officer Shri Gopal Mujalda and Tax Consultant Shri Kailash Ghatia.

This initiative proved to be a significant step toward keeping Postal Department officials updated with the latest provisions of the Income Tax Act and strengthening the compliance mechanism through knowledge sharing and capacity building.
