Heart Attack While Driving Sparks Panic Again in Rajasthan — Sarpanch Dies in Kota, Scene Reminiscent of Jaipur Dumper Tragedy

**

Kota (Rajasthan): In a shocking incident, Arjun Gunjal, the Sarpanch of Borabas Gram Panchayat in Kota district, died of a heart attack while driving on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic event created chaos on the road, reminding witnesses of the horrific Jaipur Harmada dumper accident.

According to eyewitnesses, Gunjal was driving near Aerodrome Circle when he suddenly collapsed over the steering wheel. The car veered onto a divider, then came down uncontrollably, causing panic among nearby drivers. People rushed toward the vehicle, fearing another major road mishap.

When bystanders peered inside, they saw Sarpanch Arjun Gunjal motionless behind the steering wheel. Locals immediately broke the car window to rescue him and rushed him to a hospital, but he succumbed to the heart attack on the way.

Family members revealed that Gunjal had complained of uneasiness earlier that day. “He had vomited a few hours before leaving home but thought it was just gastric trouble and went out for work,” said Bharat Gurjar, a relative of the deceased.

‘We Tried Everything to Save Him,’ Says Eyewitness
Social worker and de-addiction center operator Ravindra Singh, who witnessed the scene, said, “When I reached Aerodrome Circle, there was a huge crowd around the car. Some people were saying the driver was drunk and filming videos. I noticed the car had ‘Gunjal’ written on it and immediately called my friend Roopchand Gunjal, who confirmed it was Arjun’s car.”

He continued, “I broke the car window with the help of others, pulled him out, gave chest compressions, and even mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. We rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be revived. His hands were still clutching his chest when we found him.”

Experts Warn: Sudden Cardiac Deaths on the Rise
Senior cardiologist Dr. Purushottam Mittal explained that such incidents are medically known as Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) — a condition becoming alarmingly common after the COVID-19 pandemic. “Earlier these were rare, but now we see at least one young patient every week suffering sudden cardiac arrest,” he said.

Dr. Mittal added that 90% of such deaths are due to heart attacks, while 10% are caused by rhythm or valve disorders. He warned that stress, poor lifestyle, and repeated use of cooking oil are major triggers. “If dietary habits and daily routines are not improved, these sudden deaths will continue to rise,” he cautioned.

The untimely demise of Sarpanch Arjun Gunjal has sent a wave of grief across Borabas and Kota. Locals remember him as a humble and active community leader, whose tragic end has once again highlighted the growing health crisis linked to sudden heart failures in India.
