Haridwar: Bulldozer Action on Illegal Shrine on 2 Bigha Land, CM Dhami Directs Strict Administrative Crackdown

:**
In a major move against illegal religious structures, the Haridwar district administration demolished an unauthorized shrine built on approximately 2 bighas of government land near Pathri Roh Bridge in the Ranipur police station area on Tuesday. The action was carried out under the strict instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. A heavy police deployment was present during the demolition to prevent any untoward incidents.

Shrine Erected on Irrigation Department Land

The illegal shrine had been constructed on land belonging to the Irrigation Department. Notices had been previously issued to the encroachers, demanding the removal of the structure within a stipulated period. However, no action was taken, prompting the administration to intervene decisively. The bulldozer operation completely razed the shrine to the ground. Officials emphasized that no illegal religious construction will be tolerated on government land.

CM Dhami Directs Statewide Crackdown

Following CM Dhami’s directive, the Uttarakhand government has intensified its campaign to remove unauthorized religious structures and encroachments across the state. The government has clarified that no individual or group will be allowed to occupy government land under the guise of religious sanctity.

The CM recently stated that over 9,000 acres of government land have already been freed from illegal encroachments, reinforcing the government’s commitment to preserve the state’s cultural and legal integrity.

Zero Tolerance on Land and Religious Encroachments

Chief Minister Dhami highlighted that the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against land jihad, love jihad, and other disruptive activities. Administrative authorities have been directed to act immediately upon discovering any illegal religious structures or land occupation. Furthermore, strict enforcement of anti-conversion and anti-riot laws is being ensured to maintain peace and social harmony.

Haridwar Administration Steps Up Vigilance

The Haridwar administration has instructed all government departments to identify and report their land holdings. Similar demolitions are expected in other locations where illegal religious constructions are found. Officials clarified that the operation is not targeting any particular community or religion, but is aimed solely at upholding law and order and protecting government property.
