Half-Yearly Examinations for Classes 9 to 12 Begin in Government Schools

Indore, November 3, 2025

The half-yearly examinations for students of Classes 9 to 12 commenced on Monday in all government schools across the district. This year, the examinations are being held in November instead of December, following major changes introduced by the Board of Secondary Education in the examination schedule.

According to the new examination policy, the Board will no longer conduct supplementary exams. Instead, the first board examination will be organized in January–February, and if any student fails in all subjects, a second examination will be conducted in June–July.

Additionally, marks obtained in the quarterly and half-yearly exams will now be proportionally added to the student’s annual examination results, encouraging students to take these internal assessments more seriously.

Education authorities believe the revised system will help improve academic discipline, consistency, and year-round learning among students across government schools.
