Foundation Laid for New Anganwadi Buildings During Women Empowerment Conference

In a major initiative to strengthen women and child development in Indore district, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat and Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria inaugurated the construction of 25 new Anganwadi centres worth ₹3 crore in Sanwer. The ministers performed the bhoomipujan (groundbreaking ceremony) during a grand Women Empowerment Conference organized in Sanwer.

During the event, beneficiaries of various government welfare schemes were also presented with benefit certificates, marking a step forward in inclusive development. Prominent attendees included District Panchayat Chairperson Mrs. Reena Satish Malviya, Sanwer Janpad President Mrs. Ramkanya Bai, Indore Janpad President Mr. Kanha Patel, Sanwer Nagar Parishad President Mr. Sandeep Changedia, along with several public representatives and government officials.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Silawat highlighted that “under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is witnessing all-round development.” He noted that two One Stop Centres for women have been approved in Sanwer to assist women in distress. He further informed that Narmada water has reached 55 villages in Sanwer, with efforts underway to extend the supply to all remaining villages.

Silawat added that major progress is being made in road connectivity, irrigation, drinking water, and healthcare infrastructure. He also cited the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which are directly benefitting farmers, women, and economically weaker citizens.

In her address, Minister Nirmala Bhuria emphasized that the new Anganwadi centres, being built at a cost of around ₹3 crore, will provide better nutrition, moral education, and modern facilities for children. She announced that the department will introduce model Anganwadi centres, with special training for workers and helpers, and ensure regular recruitment and innovation to create a healthy and joyful environment for children.

Bhuria reiterated that the state government is committed to women’s empowerment and self-reliance, and assured that more Anganwadi centres will be approved if needed in the Sanwer region. She also proposed the establishment of a Working Women’s Hostel for the area.

Speaking on the broader vision, she added, “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, numerous welfare and employment-oriented schemes are uplifting farmers, women, youth, and the underprivileged. Women, especially through representation in panchayats and urban bodies, are emerging as strong leaders in society.”

Dr. Sandhya Vyas, Regional Joint Director of the Women and Child Development Department, urged women to actively benefit from the department’s various initiatives. Postmaster General Mrs. Preeti Agrawal also shared information about special postal schemes for women and girls.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of a large number of rural women, local leaders, and officials, reflecting the growing strength of women’s empowerment in Madhya Pradesh.
