Father Hires Hitman to Kill Daughter’s Lover for ₹1 Lakh: Police Encounter Reveals Shocking Murder Plot


In a dramatic police encounter in Muzaffarnagar, five members of a murder gang, including the father of a young woman, were injured in crossfire with the police. The shocking revelation that emerged — a father allegedly paid ₹1 lakh to have his daughter’s lover killed.

According to police reports, on November 1, the body of a young man named Saurabh alias Sonu was found brutally murdered in a sugarcane field near Kheri Firozabad village. Investigations soon uncovered that Sonu was in a romantic relationship with the daughter of Mehrban Singh alias Veer Singh, a local resident. Enraged by the affair, Mehrban Singh conspired with his son Vansh, and friends Alishan, Anshul, and a known criminal Danish to eliminate Sonu.

₹1 Lakh Contract Killing

Police revealed that Danish accepted a ₹1 lakh “supari” (contract) from Mehrban Singh to carry out the murder. Acting on the plan, Sonu was lured out of his house, shot multiple times, and then stabbed to death in cold blood. After the killing, the accused dumped the body in the fields and fled the scene, hiding the weapons with their associates Pawan and Akshay.

Gunfight with Police

Following a complaint from Sonu’s family, police launched a manhunt for the killers. During the operation, the gang opened fire on the police. In retaliation, officers fired back, injuring five of the accused — Mehrban Singh, Danish, Alishan, Vansh, and Anshul. The other two, Pawan and Akshay, were arrested on the spot.

The police recovered four country-made pistols, one revolver, a large cache of cartridges, five mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the site.

“Murder for Money,” Says SSP

Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma confirmed that the crime was a pre-planned murder motivated by money and anger. “Danish needed money and accepted the supari to kill Sonu. Mehrban Singh, furious about his daughter’s love affair, orchestrated the killing with his son and friends,” he said.

All seven accused have been arrested, and cases under murder, criminal conspiracy, and firing at police have been registered against them.
