The E-Token Fertilizer Distribution System, implemented as a pilot project in Jabalpur district, has proven to be a major success, making fertilizer procurement easier and faster for farmers. Thanks to this digital system, farmers no longer have to stand in long queues for hours to obtain fertilizers. Now, they can simply arrive at the double-lock centers and receive the required quantity of fertilizer promptly. Farmers have not only welcomed this convenient system but are also encouraging others to adopt it.
To gather direct feedback, Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr. S.K. Nigam, Assistant Director Ravi Amravanshi, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Dr. Indira Tripathi, and Senior Agricultural Development Officer S.K. Parteti visited Shahpura and Patan double-lock centers on Monday. They interacted with farmers who were collecting fertilizers through the E-Token system. Farmers shared that the process is simple and time-saving, requiring only about five minutes to generate an E-Token. They also appreciated that they no longer need to make multiple trips to distribution centers, as fertilizers are now available seamlessly upon arrival.
Farmers praised the transparency and efficiency of the new system. They said that in the previous manual process, obtaining a physical token was time-consuming, and even after that, they had to wait in long queues at the double-lock centers.
During the visit, young farmer Adi Jain, who came to the Shahpura double-lock center, shared his experience with the officials. He explained that he cultivates leased land in village Chaparat along with his father. They generated the E-Token using the details of the landowner and easily received the fertilizer via OTP-based authentication at the distribution center. Jain said, “I didn’t face any problem at all. I didn’t have to stand in line or wait. The process was smooth and efficient.”
Deputy Director Dr. Nigam stated that farmers are increasingly adopting the E-Token fertilizer system due to the timely and assured availability of fertilizers. To further improve user experience, the E-Token and fertilizer distribution portal has been recently upgraded. The updated version includes several new features to resolve technical difficulties faced during token generation.
According to Dr. Nigam, farmers can now rectify registration errors themselves on the portal. Additionally, in cases where land information is not displayed from Agristack, farmers can add land records manually using the “Add Land Record” link. Moreover, farmers cultivating on temple or trust-owned land, joint ownership land, or leased land can also generate E-Tokens after verification by the Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer through their official ID.
The successful implementation of the E-Token system in Jabalpur has become a model for digital agricultural reforms, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and farmer empowerment in fertilizer distribution across Madhya Pradesh.
