Jabalpur, October 31, 2025

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that the vision of comprehensive development is incomplete without the progress of women. He stated that continuous efforts are being made in Madhya Pradesh to uplift women by addressing their challenges and improving their social and economic conditions. “Our goal is to ensure that every daughter and every woman in Madhya Pradesh moves forward with confidence and becomes truly empowered,” said the Chief Minister.

Highlighting the government’s commitment, Dr. Yadav said that several concrete steps are being taken for the social, economic, and educational advancement of women. In this direction, the state has launched the ‘Devi Ahilya Nari Shashaktikaran Mission’, a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening and empowering women at every level. The mission provides new opportunities for growth and self-reliance to women across the state.

Speaking about women’s health, Dr. Yadav noted that the government is implementing multiple initiatives to ensure better healthcare, hygiene, and safety. Under the ‘Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme’, financial assistance is directly transferred to the bank accounts of schoolgirls for purchasing sanitary pads. “So far, over 20 lakh girls in the state have received assistance amounting to more than ₹118 crore,” he said proudly, adding that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to introduce such an initiative for the welfare of girls.

“Our Sisters Are the Strength of Society”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described women as the “strength of society,” adding that the Devi Ahilya Mission has brought new energy, dignity, and opportunities into their lives. “The government is ensuring that every woman has access to education, health, employment, and respect. This is our solemn commitment toward building an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) Madhya Pradesh,” he said.

Under this mission, women are being provided with integrated services such as skill development, entrepreneurship training, leadership programs, safety awareness, and access to government welfare schemes. The mission is not just a social reform program but a transformative movement toward women’s holistic empowerment.

Dr. Yadav announced that the reservation for women in state government jobs has been increased to 35%, ensuring greater participation in public service. Additionally, the honorarium for women representatives in all urban local bodies has been increased by 20% to recognize their contribution and encourage active participation in governance.

To support women in the textile and garment industries, the government has also decided to provide incentive payments to female workers employed in the readymade garment sector. Furthermore, working women’s hostels are being developed across all industrial areas to ensure safe and convenient accommodation for employed women.

Highlighting women’s growing leadership in entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said, “Today, more than 47% of startups in Madhya Pradesh are being led by women. Their innovation, determination, and leadership are proof that women are playing a vital role in the state’s development journey.”

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Yadav affirmed, “Our government will leave no stone unturned to ensure that women — who constitute half of our population — receive their rightful opportunities and recognition. It is certain that the women of Madhya Pradesh will script a new chapter in the state’s inclusive and progressive development.”
