Clash Erupts in Saharanpur: DJ Music During Wedding Procession Sparks Violence Near Mosque, Four Injured

A violent clash broke out between two communities in Bohdipur village of Nagal police station area, Saharanpur, on Saturday night after a dispute over loud DJ music played during a wedding procession near a mosque. The altercation turned violent when members of both sides attacked each other with sticks, leaving four people injured. Police rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control.

The Incident

According to reports, Nitin Saini, son of Rajesh Saini, was leading his wedding procession on horseback with music and dancing when the procession passed by a mosque where evening prayers (namaz) were being offered. Members of the Muslim community objected to the loud DJ sound and requested that it be turned off temporarily. However, a heated argument followed, which soon escalated into a physical confrontation.

Witnesses said that members of the Muslim community allegedly attacked the wedding group, injuring Shekhar and Nikhil, while Mohammad Azeem Malik and Faeem from the Muslim side were also hurt during the clash.

Police Intervention

Police from Nagal station quickly arrived at the scene and diffused the tension before the situation could worsen. All four injured were taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Nagal, for treatment and were later discharged after first aid.

Authorities have collected written complaints from both sides and are reviewing video footage of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, to determine who initiated the violence.

Current Situation

Saharanpur Police officials confirmed that peace has been restored in the village, but forces remain deployed to prevent any further unrest. “We are investigating all angles, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible,” a senior officer said.
