BLOs to Conduct Door-to-Door Enumeration; Citizens Urged to Cooperate

Jabalpur, November 3, 2025

The Election Commission of India has launched a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list across Madhya Pradesh, beginning November 4 and continuing until December 4, 2025. During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every household in all assembly constituencies to verify voters’ names, addresses, ages, and other details.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Sanjeev Jha, has appealed to all citizens to actively participate and cooperate in this important democratic process. BLOs will carry pre-printed enumeration forms containing voter details as per the 2025 voter list, including names, addresses, and voter ID numbers. Citizens are requested to carefully check these details and confirm their accuracy.

New members of households who will turn 18 years of age by January 1, 2026, will be eligible for inclusion in the voter list through Form-6, which BLOs will provide. Citizens are also advised to inform BLOs if any family member has passed away or relocated, so that such names can be removed from the list.

It is important to note that BLOs will not collect any documents during their visits. Supporting documents will be requested only if discrepancies are found during verification, and in such cases, the respective Electoral Registration Officer will contact the citizen directly. BLOs will carry official identification cards issued by the Commission, and citizens are advised to verify these before sharing their information.

Following the door-to-door verification, the draft voter list will be published on December 9, 2025. Citizens may file claims and objections from December 9, 2025, to January 8, 2026. The final voter list will be released on February 7, 2026.

The Election Commission emphasized that this campaign aims to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and inclusiveness of the electoral roll. Citizens’ cooperation will help guarantee that every eligible voter’s name is included, and no ineligible entry remains on the voter list.
