Valentine’s Day Special: How to Make Healthy Chocolates at Home? Bharti Singh Shares an Easy Recipe

This Valentine’s Day, surprise your partner with homemade healthy chocolates instead of store-bought sweets. Packed with the goodness of fox nuts (makhana), dry fruits, and dates, this recipe is not only delicious but also good for health. A dark chocolate coating gives it a premium look, making it a guilt-free treat suitable for kids’ tiffins or adult dessert cravings.

A Sweet Expression of Love

Nothing expresses love better than a sweet, and when that sweet is healthy, the joy doubles. Comedian Bharti Singh has shared a simple superfood chocolate recipe that balances taste and nutrition perfectly.

Step 1: Roast the Superfoods
In a heavy-bottomed pan, roast 1 cup of fox nuts, cashews, and almonds on low heat until the fox nuts are crispy and the nuts emit a pleasant aroma. Roasting not only removes moisture but also enhances the chocolate with a smoky, nutty flavor. You can keep raisins raw to retain their chewy texture.

Step 2: Melt the Dark Chocolate
To prevent burning, melt dark chocolate using a double boiler. Place a glass bowl over boiling water and add chocolate pieces. The steam gently melts the chocolate while maintaining its shine and quality.

Step 3: Prepare the Crunchy Mixture
Allow roasted nuts to cool slightly. In a mixer, combine the nuts with pitted dates. Pulse intermittently so the mixture remains coarse and crunchy rather than turning into a fine powder. The dates bind the mixture and add natural sweetness.

Step 4: Mold the Chocolates
Press the mixture into chocolate molds or small containers using fingers or a spoon. You can also shape them into small laddoos or squares. Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to set.

Step 5: Dip in Chocolate
Once set, remove the bites from the molds and dip each piece into the melted dark chocolate. Use a fork to drain excess chocolate. This layer gives your homemade chocolates a premium, Belgian-style finish.

Step 6: Final Chill and Serve
Place the coated chocolates on butter paper and refrigerate for 10 more minutes. For a Valentine’s Day touch, sprinkle some saffron strands or finely chopped pistachios on top. Your healthy, guilt-free chocolates are ready to gift your partner or enjoy with family.
