“Stubborn Kadai Handles Sparkle in Minutes: Poonam Devanani Reveals Easy Home Cleaning Trick”

Cleaning a kitchen kadai (wok) can be a challenge, especially when the handles and outer surfaces accumulate black, sticky residue over time. Scrubbing for hours often yields little result—but home cleaning expert Poonam Devanani has shared a simple, effective method that makes the task effortless, transforming stubborn grime into a gleaming surface in just minutes.

The Problem

Many people clean the inside of their kadhai thoroughly but struggle with the exterior. Grease and burnt residue cling stubbornly to handles and outer surfaces, resisting conventional scrubbing methods. This often turns into a frustrating, time-consuming chore.

Poonam Devanani’s Smart Cleaning Trick

The method uses common kitchen ingredients like salt, lemon, baking soda, and liquid dish soap to clean the kadhai without excessive effort. Remarkably, this trick allows you to clean two utensils at once by using a larger vessel to boil water and soak the smaller kadhai.

Step 1: Preparing the Cleaning Base

Take a large vessel in which your dirty kadhai can be fully submerged. Pour 3–4 glasses of water into it. Boiling the kadhai in this way helps clean both the larger vessel and the smaller kadhai simultaneously.

Step 2: Natural Cleaning Agents

Add 1 tablespoon of salt and lemon juice to the boiling water. Salt helps with scrubbing while lemon’s acidic properties cut through grease. If lemon is unavailable, 1–1.5 tablespoons of white vinegar can be used as an effective alternative.

Step 3: Baking Soda and Dish Soap

Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and a small amount of liquid dish soap to the mixture. The solution will foam, loosening dirt from handles and corners, while the soap helps dissolve grease for easy removal.

Step 4: Boiling Process

Immerse the kadhai completely in the solution, ensuring the handles and exterior are submerged. Bring the water to a rolling boil. The combination of heat and natural cleaning agents softens grime and lifts it from the surface.

Step 5: Scrub and Shine

After boiling, carefully remove the kadhai. Apply a little dish soap to the handles and scrub gently with steel wool. Since the dirt has already loosened, minimal effort is needed. In just a few minutes, the handles and exterior will gleam like new.

Extra Tip for Stubborn Grime

For extremely old or tough residue, add ½ teaspoon of caustic soda to the boiling solution. It is a powerful cleaner capable of removing even the most stubborn blackened layers. Caution: Always wear gloves when handling caustic soda to protect your skin.

With this simple, natural technique, Poonam Devanani has turned what used to be a laborious cleaning task into a quick and effective solution, ensuring your kitchenware looks spotless with minimal effort.
