New Delhi: Period stains on white sheets or clothes can be stubborn and frustrating, often leaving marks even after washing. But content creator Manju Mittal has shared a simple and effective method to remove them, restoring your white linens to their original brightness.
Step 1: Rub with Ice
Start by spreading the stained sheet on a flat surface. Take an ice cube and rub it thoroughly on the stain. The cold prevents the blood from soaking deeper into the fabric and prepares the stain for easier removal.
Step 2: Prepare the Cleaning Paste
Manju suggests a paste made from toothpaste, detergent powder, and liquid dishwash. Mix these ingredients well until you get a thick consistency. This paste acts on the stain, breaking it down effectively.
Step 3: Apply and Wait
Using a soft brush, gently apply the paste on the stain, ensuring it penetrates the fabric fibers. Leave it for 10–15 minutes to allow the paste to work on loosening the stain.
Step 4: Lightly Scrub and Wash
After the waiting period, sprinkle a little water and gently rub the area with your hand. You’ll notice the stain fading. Wash the sheet thoroughly and dry it in sunlight to enhance its whiteness.
Repeat if Necessary
For old or stubborn stains, the method may need to be repeated once or twice. Following this process, even the most persistent period stains on white sheets can be removed, leaving them looking fresh and clean.
